Messi surpasses Ronaldo in goals in Europe

Lionel Messi added a new record to his resume on Saturday, becoming the top scorer in the history of Europe's top five leagues

With the goal he scored on Saturday against Lens, the PSG Argentine reached 495 goals equal to Cristiano Ronaldo before leaving for Saudi Arabia

The goal (15th in Ligue 1) takes Messi to 21 in his two seasons in Ligue 1, while he scored 474 in LaLiga Santander with Barcelona.

For his part, Cristiano's 495 goals are divided as follows: 84 at Manchester United; 311 at Real Madrid; 81 at Juventus; and 19 in his second phase United

A week before, Messi also became the all-time top scorer at club level in Europe with 702 goals.

Now, with his latest goal, he has 703 goals in all competitions at club level in Europe. Cristiano, in Europe, scored 701 goals in all competitions.
