Yanga wants the group stage

Yanga Information Officer Ali Kamwe has said that the minimum goals in the CAF Champions League, which is expected to start next month, is to reach the group stage

In the draw for the preliminary matches and the first round that took place yesterday in Egypt, Yanga was scheduled to start from Djibout to face Asas Fc

The first leg match will be played between August 15-20 and the return match will be played one week later in Dar es Salaam

If Yanga succeeds in qualifying to the first round, they will play against the winner of the match between Otoho Fc of Congo and Al Marreikh of Sudan

In the first round, Yanga will also start away and finish the second match at home

Kamwe said that they are preparing for the matches and the important thing is to respect their opponents

"We as Yanga Africans have received well the draw from the African Football Federation (CAF). I want to tell our members and fans that there is no small team in the Champions League, every team is preparing to do well"

"We haven't played in the group stage of the Champions League in Africa for a long time. Last season was good for us as we managed to play in the final of the CAF Confederation Cup. This season the club's goals are to see us first advance to the group stage"

"I ask our members and fans to put our focus to this competition, make sure we play in the group stage," said Kamwe
