President of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar Dr. Ali Hassan Mwinyi has said that his government is in the plan to build other football stadiums while promising that the Afcon 2027 championship will be held in the new stadium
President Mwinyi said this yesterday at the inauguration of the Amaan stadium after major renovations. The launch coincided with a friendly game between Zanzibar Heroes against Kilimanjaro Stars that ended in a draw.
In addition, President Dr. Mwinyi has explained that the Government has aimed to build sports infrastructure in every district with new modern stadiums

Also, President Dr. Mwinyi has said that the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar and the German Government through the development organization GIZ have signed an agreement for the construction of five small sports fields including basketball, volleyball, handball and ring ball
The courts are expected to be built in Kangani Regional District, Mchangamdogo Wete District, Tumbatu and Mkokotoni North District A and Haile Selasie Urban District as well as three Chakechake Tennis Courts, SUZA University Nkurumah Campus and Regeza Mendo School in the West District B
Likewise, the Government of Zanzibar has succeeded in sending young people to various countries, including Turkey and South Africa, with the aim of developing and later playing professional football.President Dr. Mwinyi has encouraged the public to participate in the annual exercise festival held on New Year's Eve.
