The government has said that all 60,000 seats in the Mkapa stadium will be removed and replaced with new ones
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports, Gerson Msigwa has explained that the move is a continuation of the renovation plan for the stadium which will be completed in August this year
Speaking to Wasafi FM, Msigwa said that after the stadium is completed, a new leadership system will be created
Currently the Government has continued to close the stadium except for CAF CL matches for Yanga and Simba clubs and some major league matches especially involving Yanga, Simba and Azam Fc clubs
