Yanga, Simba will begin the second round of the CAF competition

Champions of the Premier League in Mainland Tanzania, Yanga will not play the preliminary stage of the International African Champions League competition they will participate in the new season of the championship

Yanga is one of the teams that have met the criteria for starting the second round of the championship, as is the case with their countrymen, Simba, who are still in the Confederations Cup

Other teams from mainland Tanzania that will participate in the international competition organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) next season are Azam FC who will compete in the African Champions League, Coastal Union in the African Confederation Cup competition

However, Azam and Coastal Union, themselves will start the tournament at the preliminary stage and their first matches will be played at home between August 16 and 18, this year

In a statement issued by CAF, it says that the two clubs from Tanzania, Yanga and Simba will start competing for the championship from the second round and their first matches will be played away and finish at home

CAF in its statement has also said that the initial stage of the club level competition for the 2024/2025 season will officially begin between August 16 and 18, this year

The federation has also said that the group stage matches will be held between October and December, this year while the knockout games of all competitions are expected to be played between March and May, next year

CAF has also confirmed that the 12 countries that have the most points in the rankings will field two teams in each competition (two in the African Champions League and two in the African Confederation Cup), including Algeria, Angola, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), South Africa, Sudan, Tunisia and Tanzania

At the same time, CAF has also opened a page for its member countries to submit the names of the teams that will participate in the tournament, the federation's Competition System (CMS)

The teams that will participate in the tournament will also be required to follow the registration calendar that will start from July 20 to 20, this year for the players who will play in the preliminary stage matches while the registration that will start from July 21 to August 31 will concern the stars who will participate in the second stage match

Another third window will be opened from September 30th to 30th and it will concern the players who will participate in the group stage matches and the teams that will advance in the championship will be allowed to increase the number of players not exceeding seven in the period from January 31st to 31st, next year

Added the second stage of the Confederations Cup competition has been removed when the teams that will be eliminated from the African Champions League will not move to the Confederations Cup as in previous seasons
