Bayern Munich coach, Vincent Kompany has said that the death of one of their fans who was on the field the other day to watch their European Champions League game against Benfica caused them not to celebrate after the match ended as they usually do
The fan was overwhelmed on the stage in the Allianz Arena and the first aid people gave him treatment for several minutes before carrying him on a stretcher to the hospital but he died on the way
The area where the fan fell and the treatment was going on was silent after the fans were silent for a long time while the treatment was going on
Speaking after the game which ended with a 1-0 win, Kompany said;
"It's difficult to talk about football issues at the moment, after the game we didn't celebrate like we usually do, of course the players also knew that, there was an emergency. We always hope our fans and everyone will return home safely. Fortunately bad, it wasn't."
On his part, the striker of the team, Thomas Muller said;
"We noticed that, we saw the state of the field and the cheering was different, the group that was jumping before the game after the incident did not do that. I was happy to see that they stopped cheering due to the issue, that is a good sign of solidarity , the fans do not put the team first and humanity is also considered"
