Government Chief Spokesman, Gerson Msigwa has warned football fans who are violent in the field saying they will be dealt with, as the Government is repairing by installing more than 200 cameras
He made that statement today December 18, 2024 at a meeting of the Minister of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Professor Palamagamba Kabudi in Dar es Salaam when he was talking to media stakeholders
"The renovation that is being done in Benjamin Mkapa's stadium is big. We are installing more than 200 cameras, if you break a chair we will make a deal with you," he said
On December 15, there was violence during the African Confederation Cup match between Simba and CS Sfaxien in the match, causing the destruction of more than 200 seats and injuring some fans
Initially giving greetings to the Minister, the retired Chairman of the Sports Journalists Association (Taswa), Abdallah Majura advised the Government to control the violent fans by preventing them from entering the stadium.
