The heavy rains that continue to fall in Singida region yesterday disrupted the friendly match between Singida BS and Yanga that was underway at the Airtel Stadium.
The match was a special one to celebrate the inauguration of the stadium where the Deputy Minister of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Hon. Hamis Mwinjuma, inaugurated it early.
Just five minutes into the second half, Referee Saadi Mrope was forced to stop the game after heavy rain accompanied by strong winds.
Jonathan Ikangalombo gave Yanga the lead early in the first half but a free kick by Mauruf Tchakei in the 50th minute of the second half was deflected into the net by the wind, equalizing for Singida BS.
