The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has imposed severe sanctions on MC Alger and Esperance following the violence of their fans, players and officials in the quarter-final matches against Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
The CAF disciplinary committee has fined MC Alger $100,000 (Sh269 million) for the violence that the team and its fans committed against Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium, Johannesburg, on April 9 this year.
MC Alger assistant coach Mohamed Khezrouni has been given a four-match CAF ban while his defender Abdelkader Oussama Menezia has been suspended for two matches.
Esperance has also been fined $100,000 for the violence that its fans committed on April 1 this year against Mamelodi Sundowns at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
