Simba arrives in Zanzibar to face Berkane

Simba SC has safely arrived in Zanzibar with a clear mission—to win their first-ever CAF Confederation Cup title when they face Morocco's RS Berkane in the second leg of the final, set to take place on Sunday, May 25, at the New Amaan Complex Stadium.

The entire squad registered for this season was part of the delegation that departed from Dar es Salaam earlier today, signaling serious preparation for this historic encounter.

The final match is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 PM local time, and will be followed by an official closing ceremony of the 2024/2025 CAF Confederation Cup season, including the awarding of medals and prizes.

Simba players are guaranteed medals—either gold if they win or silver if the outcome goes the other way. However, the stance within the Simba camp is clear: they are only focused on winning.

There’s a painful memory from 1993, when Simba lost a CAF Cup final at the Uhuru Stadium, witnessing their visitors lift the trophy on Tanzanian soil. This time, the "Msimbazi Giants" are determined not to let history repeat itself.

Now, all eyes are on the New Amaan Complex—where a new chapter in Simba’s legacy could be written. They are not just fighting for victory in a football match, but for the pride of Tanzanian football on the continental stage.
