Singida Black Stars determined to face Simba

Kenyan coach of Singida Black Stars, David Ouma, has said that the friendly match against Yanga has boosted his players' morale as they prepare to face Simba in two upcoming matches β€” one in the Mainland Premier League and the other in the Federation Cup (FA Cup).

In the match played last Thursday at the KMC Complex Stadium in Mwenge, Dar es Salaam, Singida won 3-2 with goals from Elvis Rupia, Jonathan Sowah, and Arthur Bada, while Yanga's goals were scored by Prince Dube and Denis Nkane.

Ouma stated that all his players are currently in good form and physically fit, and are ready to take on Simba in these crucial upcoming fixtures, although he admitted the challenge posed by the strength of their opponents.

β€œWe are going into back-to-back matches against Simba, which for us are of great importance. Our main goal was to secure a CAF competition ticket, which we have now achieved β€” what remains is to continue protecting our pride,” he said.

The coach added that despite the difficulty of the matches, they will fight to show strong competitiveness, starting with the Premier League clash on May 28 at the KMC Complex, followed by the FA Cup semifinal to be played on May 31.

The team secured a CAF competition slot for next season after Yanga defeated JKT Tanzania 2-0 in the FA Cup semifinal, which guarantees Singida a third- or fourth-place finish this season.
