As the Mainland Premier League season is expected to conclude next month, contract renewal processes are already underway for players whose deals are nearing their end.
Yanga's management began early with the process of extending contracts that are set to expire at the end of the season.
So far, players such as Pacome Zouzoua, Maxi Nzengeli, and Dickson Job have already signed new contracts, while negotiations are still ongoing with other players like Khalid Aucho and Clatous Chama.
However, in Chama's case, it has been reported that the former Simba midfielder has been offered a one-year contract, with its value based on his contribution to Yanga’s squad this season.
There are also reports that his former employers, Simba SC, are working hard to bring back the midfielder, who had earned great respect in Tanzanian football during his previous spell.
In his first season with Yanga, Chama has struggled to break into the starting lineup due to the outstanding form of Stephane Aziz Ki and Pacome Zouzoua.
Chama has scored four goals and provided two assists in the NBC Premier League, with over 80% of his appearances coming from the bench.
However, following the departure of Aziz Ki, this could be his chance to return to the starting eleven. Still, next season is expected to bring even more competition in his position, as Yanga is planning to sign another top-class midfielder to replace Aziz Ki.
