Azam FC has officially begun efforts to ensure they remain stable amid the possibility of losing their key midfielder Feisal Salum 'Fei Toto', who is currently on the radar of top clubs like Simba, Yanga, and Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa.
Although the club has not openly confirmed Fei Totoâs fate, the technical interpretation is clearâAzam is making early preparations to fill the potential void should the midfielder depart in the upcoming season.
Azam has already emphasized that the player will not be sold for less than TSh 1 billion, despite still having a year left on his contract.
In the search for a replacement, Allan Okello, a left-footed attacking midfielder from Vipers SC, has emerged as the clubâs top choice.
Okello is no stranger to the East African transfer market. Simba SC previously attempted to sign him during the mid-season transfer window that opened on December 15 last year, but their efforts were blocked due to the firm stance of Vipersâ president, Lawrence Mulindwa, who is known for being reluctant to sell his key players.
This season alone, Okello has showcased impressive form, scoring 19 goals, in what is his second season since returning to Vipers.
The Ugandan side currently sits at the top of the Uganda Premier League after 30 matches, with 21 wins, 6 draws, and 3 lossesâa record that highlights Okelloâs significant contribution.
