They say the signs of rain are the clouds—this best describes the situation after Simba's management boycotted the official pre-match meeting involving the teams' coaches and captains ahead of the Premier League showdown between Yanga and Simba scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, June 25, at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Yanga’s coach and team captain attended the meeting, but neither Simba’s head coach Fadlu Davids nor captain Mohammed Hussein appeared to speak to the press.
Closing the meeting, Tanzania Premier League Board Media Officer Karim Boimanda stated that no official communication had been received from Simba regarding their participation in the press briefing, and efforts to reach the club's officials had been unsuccessful.
"Despite our efforts, by the time the Yanga press briefing concluded, we still had no clear answer from Simba on whether they would attend or not. We tried to reach them, but they haven't picked up their phones. So I must inform you, our fellow members of the media, that there will be no press briefing from Simba," said Boimanda.
Since the schedule change that postponed the match, Simba has distanced itself from all official pre-match arrangements.
