European Transfer Rumors: United Mbeumo Move Fails, Liverpool Target Ekitike

Manchester United’s attempt to sign Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo, 25, has stalled after the London club raised their asking price to £70 million. United are unwilling to pay more than £65m. (Guardian)

Liverpool have opened talks with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign French striker Hugo Ekitike, 23. (Sky Sports)

However, Newcastle United are progressing with their own pursuit of Ekitike, hoping to pair him with Swedish striker Alexander Isak, 25, next season. (Telegraph - subscription required)
