The Head of Information and Communication at Azam FC, Thabit Zacharia, popularly known as Zakazakazi, has revealed the reasons preventing the club from selling attacking midfielder Feisal Salum Fei Toto to Simba SC.
In an interview with a popular radio station in Dar es Salaam, Zakazakazi openly stated that Azam FC cannot sell the player to Simba due to a special clause in their contract with Yanga SC, from whom they originally signed the player.
"We cannot sell Feisal to Simba because I don't think Simba has the money to afford Feisal," he said.
Zakazakazi disclosed that when Azam FC signed Feisal from Yanga SC, it was agreed in the contract that if the player were ever sold to Simba, Azam would be required to pay Yanga a compensation fee of one billion Tanzanian shillings.
"When we signed Feisal from Yanga, there was a contractual agreement that if we sold him to Simba, we must pay Yanga TZS 1 billion," he revealed.
He added that to make such a transfer viable, Simba would have to offer a significantly high bid that ensures Azam profits beyond the compensation cost — a scenario he described as unlikely.
"So how much would Simba pay for us to make it worthwhile? We are not willing to pay Yanga 1 billion shillings if Simba's offer is low. They must offer a price that gives us more than what Yanga would receive," he emphasized.
Despite widespread speculation online about Fei Toto's possible move to Simba, Zakazakazi said they have not received any official offer from the club so far.
