After arriving in Eswatini yesterday, Simba SC will today begin their preparations ahead of the first-leg clash in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round against Nsingizini Hotspurs.
The match is scheduled to be played this Sunday, October 19, in Eswatini.
Head coach Dimitar Pantev will have two days to fine-tune his squad before taking on Nsingizini in a match Simba must win to make their job easier in the return leg, which will be held next week on October 26 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
According to the club’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ali, all players who traveled with the team to Eswatini are in good condition, and the squad will hold its first training session in the country today.
This will be Pantev’s first official competitive match in charge of Simba since joining the club from Gaborone United of Botswana — the same team Simba eliminated in the previous qualifying round of this year’s CAF Champions League.
The 180 minutes of football between Simba and Gaborone United were enough to convince Simba’s management to appoint the Bulgarian tactician, who led the Botswana club to a Premier League title last season.
His first major task now is to guide Simba into the group stage of the CAF Champions League this season.
