Moroccan club Raja Casablanca are reportedly taking initial steps to pursue Young Africans SC (Yanga) midfielder Moussa Balla Conte after submitting an offer to sign the Guinean international.
Initially, Yanga had planned to send Conte out on loan to allow him more playing time, especially following a difficult start to his spell with the club.
However, that plan now appears to be changing rapidly after the player began to show his quality on the pitch, earning increased trust from the technical bench.
Despite his improving form, Yanga’s management is now facing a tough decision regarding Conte’s future, particularly as the player himself is said to be open to joining Raja Casablanca in search of a fresh start after the early challenges he encountered at Jangwani.
Raja Casablanca are currently coached by Fadlu Davids, the former Simba SC head coach who left the club at the beginning of this season. Fadlu’s presence on the Raja bench adds further appeal to the deal, especially considering that he had admired Conte even during his time at Simba.
It should be recalled that when Yanga signed Conte from Tunisian side CS Sfaxien, there was stiff competition from Simba, who were also keen on securing the midfielder’s signature. Yanga eventually won the race, a move that was widely viewed as a major victory in the transfer market.
At present, Yanga are believed to have concluded their transfer business in this window, a situation that could make it difficult to allow Conte to leave quickly unless a special agreement is reached that satisfies all parties involved.
