Attacking midfielder Shiza Kichuya has officially joined Coastal Union from JKT Tanzania, a move that marks the return of the highly experienced player to the top level of competition in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League.
Kichuya, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or a winger, is known for his pace, creativity, and ability to score crucial goals. His arrival strengthens the attacking department of the Wagosi wa Kaya ahead of the new league season.
The player has a long and successful history in Tanzanian football. He first made a name for himself at Mtibwa Sugar, where his impressive performances attracted the attention of the country’s football giants. His quality earned him a move to Simba SC, one of Tanzania’s biggest clubs.

During his time at Simba, Kichuya featured in highly competitive seasons, playing in both league matches and international competitions. He is best remembered for scoring goals and providing assists in big matches, including derby encounters. His spell at Simba helped build his experience, mental strength, and popularity among football fans.
After leaving Simba, Kichuya continued to seek new challenges by playing for several clubs both locally and abroad, including Namungo FC, before returning to Tanzania to join JKT Tanzania, where he remained an important member of the squad and continued to showcase his ability.
At international level, Kichuya has also represented Taifa Stars, featuring in international competitions and demonstrating his quality at the highest stage.
Coastal Union’s management believes that Kichuya’s signing will add experience, competition for places, and overall quality to the squad, with fans eagerly anticipating seeing him rediscover his best form at the Mkwakwani Stadium.
