Striker Clement Mzize is among the players who traveled with Yanga’s squad to Morocco ahead of the CAF Champions League Group B, fifth-round match against AS FAR.
Mzize has continued to show improvement after being sidelined for a long period, and it can be said that it is now only a matter of time before he returns to action.
The forward, who extended his contract to remain at Yanga during the July transfer window despite interest from several clubs, could possibly be ready to make his comeback in the match against JS Kabylie scheduled for February 14.
Yanga head coach Pedro Goncalves has made it clear that he has no plans to use Mzize in the match against AS FAR, citing the importance of protecting the player and ensuring he does not suffer a recurrence of past injuries.
"It is a good thing for us to see Clement (Mzize) training fully with the team. We will not rush to use him in these high-pressure matches, as the player’s health is a much bigger priority than the pressure of short-term results," he said.
On Saturday, Yanga will be seeking a win or at least a draw against AS FAR to put themselves in a strong position to qualify for the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.
