Young Africans Sports Club head coach, Pedro Gonçalves, has praised his players for showing great courage and refusing to give up even in challenging moments.
His remarks came shortly after the NBC Premier League match against TRA United, which ended in a goalless draw. Despite the result falling short of expectations, the coach emphasized that his team displayed a high level of resilience.
The match marked the completion of the first round of 15 league games, with Yanga finishing at the top of the standings.
Speaking after the game, Gonçalves said:
“The first half of the season is complete, and we are in first place. Although today’s result was not what we expected, we leave with strong assurance that our strength is like iron. I want to commend the courage and dedication of our players, who have continued to fight despite many challenges and injuries.”
He added that when they began this journey, they were behind their rivals, but now they lead the league thanks to their effort and unity.
“When we started this challenge, we were behind our rivals. Today we look at the standings and see the fruits of our hard work — we are clear leaders. We are at the top through our own efforts, and that is where we intend to stay.”
The coach concluded by expressing his pride in the squad, emphasizing that the team continues to move forward together as they prepare for upcoming challenges.
