The quarter-final stage of the CAF Champions League 2026 has officially concluded this Sunday following the second-leg matches, which delivered intense competition and exciting results.
In matches played today, Mamelodi Sundowns secured a place in the semi-finals despite suffering a 2-0 away defeat to Stade Malien. Sundowns progressed thanks to their 3-0 victory in the first leg, advancing with a 3-2 aggregate score.
The match in Bamako started at a high pace, with Stade Malien scoring as early as the first minute and adding another before halftime. However, their efforts were not enough to overturn the deficit from the first leg.
In another fixture, RS Berkane claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Al-Hilal Omdurman to advance with a 2-1 aggregate score. The only goal of the match came late, breaking the hearts of the home side who needed a win to progress.
With these results, RS Berkane join Sundowns in the semi-finals, alongside FAR Rabat and Espérance de Tunis, who qualified on Saturday after defeating their respective opponents in the second-leg matches.
FAR Rabat eliminated Pyramids with a 3-2 aggregate score, while Espérance de Tunis knocked out Al Ahly with a 4-2 aggregate victory, highlighting the intense competition at this stage.
Attention now turns to the semi-finals, where the four remaining teams are expected to showcase top-level performances as they battle for the African club championship title.
