Brazil national team defensive midfielder Casemiro is on the verge of officially leaving Manchester United at the end of the 2025β26 season. The decision comes after the clubβs management opted not to renew his contract, bringing his four-year spell at Old Trafford to a close.
Casemiro, now 34 years old, joined United from Real Madrid in 2022 for a significant transfer fee. He has been known for his midfield solidity, game control, and international experience. However, the club is preparing for a major squad overhaul, prioritizing younger players in the upcoming summer transfer window.
With his contract nearing its end, Casemiro will be free to join any club. Recent reports indicate that several teams across Europe, the United States, and the Middle East are interested in signing him.
One of the clubs closely monitoring his situation is Inter Miami CF from Major League Soccer (MLS), co-owned by former football star David Beckham. Inter Miami are reportedly keen to bring in Casemiro to strengthen their midfield, especially following the retirement of Sergio Busquets. However, salary constraints and MLS registration rules could delay the move.
Other MLS clubs such as LA Galaxy have also been linked with interest, particularly since Casemiro will be available on a free transfer once his contract expires.
Beyond the United States, reports suggest that clubs in the Saudi Pro League are interested in Casemiro, offering attractive sporting and financial packages. Meanwhile, some European clubs, including AC Milan, see him as an ideal addition to bring experience and quality to their midfield while keeping him in top European competitions.
During his time at Manchester United, Casemiro earned great respect from fans for his dedication, discipline, and performances in big matches. In 146 appearances, he scored 21 goals and provided 12 assists.
