Yesterday, football fans once again witnessed Tanzanian international referee Ahmed Arajiga skillfully waving the Tanzanian flag as he officiated the FIFA Serie Group A third-place playoff match between Kenya and Grenada at Amahoro Stadium, Rwanda.
The match was a football spectacle, with Kenya showing their strength with a 3-0 victory. Goals came from Austine Odhiambo, Ryan Ogam, and an own goal by Vijay Valcin, securing the win for Kenya.
For Arajiga, this was a very important match after a long period, as his last time on the field was January 29, 2026, in an NBC Premier League match where Simba SC defeated Mashujaa FC 2-0. His international experience has continued to grow, demonstrating that Tanzania has a top-class referee known and respected by players, teams, and fans alike.
Arajiga was not alone; he was assisted by fellow Tanzanians Mohamed Mkono and Respicous Dismas, with Nassir Siyah serving as the fourth official. This collaboration highlights how Tanzania is emerging as a producer of referees capable of officiating at the international level.
