Yanga SC fans are breathing a sigh of relief as Laurindo Aurelio ‘Depu,’ the dangerous striker from Angola, has returned to training with his team.
This is welcome news for the “Wananchi,” as the squad regains strength ahead of the upcoming league rounds and their title defense campaign.
Depu had been sidelined recovering from muscle injuries, causing some concern among fans that he might be out for an extended period.
However, showing determination and effort, the striker has worked hard to return early, ready to compete in upcoming matches.
Signed by Yanga during the minor transfer window, Depu has proven himself a top scorer. In 10 matches across various competitions, he has scored 11 goals—a daunting tally for opponents. In the NBC Premier League, he is level with teammate Prince Dube, each with 6 goals.
It is also great news for Yanga that other previously injured players have returned to training, including key defender Ibrahim Hamad Bacca, as well as Chadrack Boka and Edmund John.
The Yanga squad resumed training yesterday in preparation for their Premier League match against Tanzania Prisons, scheduled for Saturday, April 4, at the KMC Complex.
