Chelsea FC midfielder Enzo Fernandez has been removed from the squad for the next two matches following comments he made during the international break.
Coach Liam Rosenior confirmed the decision, stating that Fernandez will not be available for the upcoming match nor the one against Manchester City next week.
"From the club’s perspective and as part of the coaching staff, he will not be ready for tomorrow’s match or the one against Manchester City. It is unfortunate to speak in that manner," Rosenior said.
The coach added that, while he respects Fernandez as a player and as a person, a line was crossed that necessitated disciplinary action.
"As far as his character and personality go, I have nothing bad to say, but a line was crossed. We had to take action," he emphasized.
This move demonstrates Chelsea’s stance on maintaining discipline among players, especially at a time when the club is working to restore stability and competitiveness within the squad.
