Dodoma Jiji has climbed to seventh place in the NBC Premier League standings after securing a convincing 3-0 victory over Fountain Gate in a match played on Friday at Airtel Stadium, Singida.
The game was dominated by Dodoma Jiji, with Augustino Nsata scoring the opening goal in the 36th minute, followed by Idd Kipagwile adding a second in the 69th minute. Kassim Mgaza completed the scoring spree by netting the third goal during stoppage time at 90+2 minutes, ensuring three crucial points for his team.
The victory brings Dodoma Jiji to 24 points, moving them safely into the mid-table zone, while Fountain Gate drops to 13th place, with relegation pressure beginning to mount.
In another thrilling encounter, Mbeya City emerged victorious with a 3-2 win over KMC. Riphat Msuya opened the scoring in the 65th minute, followed by Adilly Buha converting a penalty in the 77th minute, and Said Naushad sealed the win with a goal in the 87th minute.
KMC responded with goals from Paul Adam in the 45th minute and Adam Uledi in the 79th minute but could not overturn Mbeya City’s lead. This win takes Mbeya City to 12th place with 16 points, while KMC continues to languish at the bottom of the table, facing increased relegation pressure.
The results of these two matches have intensified competition in the league, particularly among mid-table teams and those fighting to avoid relegation.
