Kaizer Chiefs Appoint Fernando Da Cruz as New Head Coach on Two-Year Deal

South African club Kaizer Chiefs have appointed French coach Fernando Da Cruz as their new head coach on a two-year contract, with an option to extend for a further year.

According to reports close to the club, Da Cruz has completed negotiations with the Kaizer Chiefs management and officially signed the deal, making him the club’s new leader ahead of the upcoming season.

The former Lille OSC coach, who also previously worked with AS FAR Rabat, is expected to arrive with a technical team of four assistants. He will also be supported by 2–3 South African coaches as part of the club’s restructuring process.

Kaizer Chiefs’ leadership has been actively working on rebuilding the squad in an effort to restore the club’s competitiveness in the South African league after several disappointing seasons.

Da Cruz’s appointment signals a new strategic direction, with the club hoping his international experience will improve tactical discipline, modern playing styles, and overall competitiveness in both domestic and continental competitions.

Last season, Kaizer Chiefs were managed by young coaches Cedric Kaze and Ben Youssef, who stepped in after the departure of former head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who left due to family-related issues.
