Tanzania Prisons have begun rewriting their story in the NBC Premier League after recording a series of positive results that have reignited hopes of survival this season.
Following a difficult start to the campaign that led to changes in the technical bench, signs of improvement are now emerging within the prison warders’ camp. Three consecutive wins have completely changed the mood in the squad and restored confidence among supporters.
In their recent matches, Tanzania Prisons have shown renewed strength. They first secured a 3–2 away victory in Mwanza, then returned to Sokoine Stadium to defeat Dodoma Jiji 3–1, before completing the run with a narrow 1–0 win over JKT Tanzania.
These results have lifted Prisons to 14th place on the league table with 26 points, giving them a chance to fight for safety rather than face relegation playoff pressure.
The team now has three crucial remaining matches that will determine their fate. They are set to face Singida Black Stars on June 24 in Singida, before returning to Mbeya to play Mtibwa Sugar, and later finishing away against Mashujaa FC.
The match against Singida Black Stars is already being described as a “decisive early final,” given how tight the standings are in the lower part of the table.
Team captain Lambart Sabiyanka admitted that the team’s situation is now very different from the start of the season, noting that their recent wins have boosted morale and unity within the squad.
He said the upcoming clash against Singida Black Stars could play a major role in defining their season, stressing that their main target is to avoid the relegation playoff zone entirely.
"Singida Black Stars hold a big part of our fate. If we get through safely, we can gain significant relief," said Sabiyanka.
He added that every player is now fighting hard for the club’s badge, emphasizing the importance of discipline, caution, and smart game management in the remaining fixtures.
