It's a new day at Jangwani—the election date has been officially announced.

Yanga Club has officially launched its 2026 General Election process after the club’s Election Committee announced the full election timetable, which will culminate in voting on August 2, 2026.

The announcement was made today, June 24, 2026, by the Chairman of the Election Committee, Advocate Malangwe A. Mchungahela, officially opening the process of selecting leaders who will guide the club in the coming term.

According to the schedule, the first phase begins today with the official announcement of the election process and all positions open for contest. From June 25 to June 29, eligible members interested in contesting various leadership positions will be allowed to collect and submit nomination forms, a stage expected to attract strong competition within one of the country’s largest membership-based clubs.

The Election Committee will conduct a preliminary screening of candidates between June 30 and July 1 before publishing the preliminary list of candidates on July 2. This will be followed by a period for lodging objections against candidates from July 3 to July 5, during which members will have the opportunity to submit complaints or concerns regarding the qualifications of any candidate.

Thereafter, from July 6 to July 8, candidates will undergo interviews, and all submitted objections will be reviewed. The preliminary interview results will be announced on July 9 and July 10, providing an early indication of the candidates most likely to advance to the final stages of this important election for Yanga’s future.

The schedule also allocates time for the Ethics Committee to handle any ethical issues raised against candidates between July 11 and July 13. In addition, candidates who are either satisfied or dissatisfied with the Election Committee’s decisions will be permitted to file appeals before the TFF Election Appeals Committee from July 14 to July 16.

The Appeals Committee will hear the cases between July 17 and July 21 before issuing its decisions on July 22 and July 23. The final list of candidates participating in the election will be officially announced on July 24, paving the way for election campaigns that will run from July 25 through August 1.

August 2, 2026, will mark the climax of the process, when Yanga SC members will vote to elect their new leaders. The election is expected to be one of the club’s most significant events due to Yanga’s prominent position in Tanzanian and East African football. The leaders elected will be entrusted with the responsibility of building on Yanga’s successes both on and off the field.
