Simba SC secured an emphatic 3-0 victory over Mtibwa Sugar in a Tanzania Mainland Premier League match played at Jamhuri Stadium, strengthening their position in the race for this season's league title.
The Reds of Msimbazi started the match strongly and took an early lead in the 9th minute through a penalty converted by South African international defender Rushine De Reuck. The goal gave Simba confidence and allowed them to control much of the game against their opponents.
After Mtibwa Sugar's efforts to find an equalizer proved unsuccessful, Simba doubled their advantage in the 77th minute through Selemani Mwalimu, who finished off a well-crafted attacking move. The goal further boosted Simba's momentum and effectively ended Mtibwa Sugar's hopes of making a comeback.
Simba completed the scoring in stoppage time when Ancient Oura found the net in the 90+3rd minute, sealing an important victory for his team.
The win earns Simba three crucial points at a time when the title race is becoming increasingly intense. The team displayed excellent ball possession, creative attacking play, and clinical finishing in front of goal.
However, despite this impressive result, the championship battle is far from over. Football fans across the country will continue to closely follow the league standings as Simba and their rivals fight for every point in the closing stages of the season, where even the smallest mistake could determine the destination of the league title
