Bayern win race for wonderkid

Bayern Munich have reached an agreement to sign left-back Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt for a fee of €55 million, with the player expected to sign a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2031.

Brown's transfer becomes Bayern's second major signing of this transfer window after the club completed the signing of Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven last week for an estimated €55 million. This means Bayern have spent a total of €110 million in just two weeks.

Brown joins Bayern following an impressive season with Eintracht Frankfurt, where he established himself as one of the most rapidly developing left-backs in Germany. Frankfurt signed him from Nürnberg in 2024 for just €3.5 million before his market value rose dramatically to €55 million within a short period.

Reports indicate that several European clubs were interested in signing the player, but Brown chose to prioritize Bayern Munich when making decisions about his future. That decision helped accelerate negotiations between all parties until a final agreement was reached.

For Eintracht Frankfurt, the sale represents one of the club's most profitable deals in recent years. Nürnberg will also benefit through a 12.5% sell-on clause that was included when they transferred the player, earning them millions of euros without being directly involved in the current negotiations.

At present, Brown remains an important member of the German national team squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 23-year-old defender has been among the standout performers in the group stage thanks to his ability to contribute both offensively and defensively. His excellent form has led many to regard him as one of the fastest-rising young stars in European football, with his move to Bayern Munich seen as a major step that confirms his development both at club level and with the national team.
