The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Competitions Committee, during a meeting held in Dar es Salaam, reviewed the report of the 2026 CRDB Bank Federation Cup final played on July 4, 2026, at Gombani Stadium in Pemba and announced a series of disciplinary measures against Azam FC and some of its officials.
Among the decisions, Azam FC were fined TSh 50 million for refusing to take part in the official trophy and awards presentation ceremony held immediately after the final. TFF stated that the sanction was imposed in accordance with Article 27:7 of the Premier League Regulations governing decision-making bodies.
In addition, Azam FC goalkeeping coach Roudy Mountaro has been suspended for four matches and fined TSh 2 million after being found guilty of assaulting the match referee following the final whistle. According to TFF, the punishment was issued under Article 45:2:1 of the regulations governing the conduct of coaches and other technical officials.
Goalkeeper Zuberi Foba has also received disciplinary action after being suspended for three matches and fined TSh 2 million for assaulting the referee after the match. The sanction was imposed in accordance with Article 41:5:3 of the regulations governing player conduct.
The decisions reflect TFF's firm commitment to maintaining discipline in its competitions, particularly during high-profile matches such as the Federation Cup final. The federation reiterated that misconduct toward match officials and failure to comply with official competition procedures will not be tolerated.
These sanctions are expected to serve as a reminder to clubs, officials, and players of the importance of upholding fair play, respecting referees' decisions, and adhering to all regulations governing football competitions in Tanzania.
