Yanga SC continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season, with increasing the number of local players among the club's key priorities during the current transfer window.
Reports indicate that the club's management is in talks with Taifa Stars midfielder Alphonce Mabula Msanga, with the aim of bringing him back to Tanzania after several years playing professional football abroad.
Yanga are impressed by Mabula's qualities as a defensive midfielder and believe his international experience would add strength, balance, and competition to the team's midfield. The midfielder is currently a free agent after the expiration of his contract with Azerbaijani club Shamakhi FK.
This has prompted Yanga to accelerate negotiations, especially as the player is currently in Tanzania for his end-of-season break. Although neither party has officially confirmed the negotiations, discussions are ongoing, and reports suggest that Yanga have already submitted an attractive offer in an effort to convince the Taifa Stars midfielder to join the NBC Premier League champions ahead of the new season.
