DR Congo international striker Fiston Mayele has begun a new chapter in his career after reaching an agreement to join Libyan club Al Ahli Tripoli from Egypt's Pyramids FC.
Reports indicate that all aspects of the transfer have been completed, with Mayele signing a two-year contract worth a total of $5 million. The only remaining step is the club's official announcement.
From Yanga to One of Africa's Top Strikers
Mayele first rose to prominence in East African football during his time at Yanga SC, whom he joined in 2021 from DR Congo's AS Vita.
At Yanga, he established himself as one of the continent's most dangerous strikers, helping the club win Tanzania Mainland Premier League titles and reach the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup final. His crucial goals against several African clubs attracted interest from some of the continent's biggest teams.
Following those achievements, Pyramids FC signed him in 2023 for a significant transfer fee, taking him to one of Africa's most competitive leagues.
Major Success at Pyramids FC
At Pyramids, Mayele continued to demonstrate his outstanding goalscoring ability. He was among the key players who helped the club win the CAF Champions League for the first time in its history and finished the tournament as its top scorer.
