Azam FC have officially confirmed the return of Ivorian attacking midfielder Zunon Kipré Emmanuel Junior, popularly known as Kipre Jr, after reaching a transfer agreement with MC Alger of Algeria. The talented midfielder has signed his contract and was officially unveiled at the club's headquarters, marking his return to Chamazi two years after leaving in 2024.
Kipre joined MC Alger in 2024 in a deal reportedly worth more than TZS 700 million. During his time in Algeria, he helped the club win two Algerian Ligue 1 titles and the Algerian Super Cup. However, after two seasons, both parties mutually agreed to terminate his contract, paving the way for his return to Azam FC.
As part of the transfer agreement, MC Alger will retain a 30% sell-on clause, entitling the Algerian club to a percentage of any future transfer fee should Azam FC sell the player. His return is expected to strengthen Azam's attacking options ahead of the 2026/27 season.
During his first spell at Azam FC, Kipre Jr spent two seasons at the club, scoring 12 goals while earning a reputation for his creativity, pace, and ability to create scoring opportunities. Azam supporters will be hoping his return inspires another successful chapter as the club prepares for the upcoming Mainland Tanzania Premier League campaign and other domestic and continental competitions
