Former Azam FC head coach Youssoupha Dabo has officially been appointed as the new head coach of the Libya national team on a one-year contract. The Libyan Football Federation confirmed the appointment, entrusting the Senegalese tactician with leading the team into its upcoming international campaigns.
Dabo returns to a familiar environment, having previously served as an assistant coach for Libya under Aliou Cissé. The 46-year-old has built an impressive coaching résumé across Africa, managing Teungueth FC, ASC Jaraaf, Azam FC of Tanzania, and AS Vita Club of DR Congo. He also coached Senegal's U-20 national team.
His primary task will be to rebuild the Libyan national team and guide them in their bid to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The Libyan Football Federation believes Dabo's extensive experience at both club and international level will help restore Libya's competitiveness on the African football stage.
