Although Mzamiru leaves as one of the finest midfielders ever to play for Simba, Nashon arrives with qualities that make him appear to be an upgrade in certain technical and physical aspects.
Mzamiru Yassin
He served Simba for approximately 10 years, making more than 250 appearances in all competitions. During his time at the club, he won several Tanzanian Premier League titles, the FA Cup, and the Community Shield. He also helped Simba reach the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League in 2021.
He was known for his outstanding discipline on the pitch, vast experience and leadership, excellent defensive abilities, breaking up opposition attacks, winning second balls, and maintaining a tireless work rate throughout the full 90 minutes.
Kelvin Nashon
Nashon
is a young midfielder with significant room for growth and development.
His strengths include carrying the ball from defense into attack (ball progression), winning one-on-one duels, aggressive tackling and high pressing, playing forward passes that break opposition lines, and covering large areas of the pitch thanks to his pace and physical strength.
Kelvin Nashon joins Simba with greater physical power, a higher playing tempo, and more attacking contribution than Mzamiru at this stage of their respective careers. While Mzamiru was relied upon for his experience and composure, Nashon brings fresh energy, creativity in advancing the ball, and the ability to thrive in a modern tactical system that demands intense pressing against opponents.
With that in mind, Simba have not only found a replacement for Mzamiru Yassin, but have also acquired a midfielder capable of taking the team to an even higher level while assuming the responsibilities of the next generation in the heart of midfield.
