Simba SC have continued their efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season by completing the final stages of signing Keletso Makgalwa and Ibrahim Doumbia.
Twenty-two-year-old Malian striker Ibrahim Doumbia has already arrived in Dar es Salaam to finalize his move to the Msimbazi-based club. He joins Simba as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with AS Korofina.
Reports indicate that Doumbia has signed a one-year contract with an option to extend it for a further year if he meets the club's performance expectations.
The striker arrives with an outstanding record from the Malian Premier League, where he finished as the league's top scorer last season after netting 17 goals in 24 matches. In addition, he registered four assists and scored four goals in the FA Cup, finishing second in the competition's scoring charts.
If all formalities are completed on schedule, Doumbia is expected to make his first appearance in a Simba shirt during the CECAFA Kagame Cup, which begins on July 24 in Rwanda.
Meanwhile, South African attacking midfielder and winger Keletso Makgalwa arrived in Dar es Salaam earlier today to complete his transfer to Simba.
The 29-year-old, who most recently played for Sekhukhune United, arrived in Tanzania accompanied by his agent, signaling that his official unveiling by Simba is only a matter of time.
Makgalwa's signing is understood to have been driven largely by head coach Steve Barker, who believes the South African will add creativity, pace, and valuable experience to Simba's attacking lineup.
