Simba have dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that some of their key players are in the final stages of leaving the club during the current transfer window.
Among the players linked with an exit is Senegalese attacking midfielder Libasse Gueye, who was an important part of the Msimbazi Reds squad last season.
Speaking to journalists earlier today, Simba Head of Information and Communications Ahmed Ally strongly rejected the reports, saying they have no truth. He insisted that Gueye remains under contract and is part of the club's plans ahead of the new competitive season.
Ahmed said that, alongside Libasse, other players mentioned on social media as potential departures will remain part of Simba's squad for the upcoming season.
"There have been many claims that Libasse is being sold, Oura is being sold, or Loemba is leaving. But standing here in this expensive suit, I can announce that no player is leaving. Every quality player you know will continue to be here, and today there is also good news that Suleiman Mwalimu will continue staying at Simba Sports Club," Ahmed said.
The statement comes as Simba supporters closely follow changes taking place within the squad ahead of the new season, with various transfer and departure rumours spreading rapidly.
Ahmed Ally also revealed that Simba have not completed their recruitment plans and that the management continues working to bring in players with quality and a strong desire to compete.
"The management is well prepared to sign players with great ability and the hunger to fight, players who will help the club return to its best and perform well in all domestic and international competitions," Ahmed added.
So far, Simba have completed several signings ahead of the new season, including defender Nathaniel Chilambo from Azam FC, midfielder Kelvin Nashon from Pamba Jiji, and attacking midfielder Bakari Msimu from Coastal Union of Tanga.
