Barcelona have officially unveiled Germany international forward Karim Adeyemi as the club's newest signing following the completion of his transfer from Borussia Dortmund.
The 24-year-old has joined the La Liga giants on a five-year contract that will keep him at Camp Nou until June 2031.
Barcelona have paid a base transfer fee of €22 million, with the agreement including performance-related bonuses that could raise the total value of the deal by a further €7 million.
Head coach Hansi Flick played a key role in pushing for the signing, having worked with Adeyemi during their time with the German national team. Flick is said to admire the forward's pace, versatility across the attacking line, and his aggressive pressing when possession is lost.
Adeyemi is expected to add greater competition to Barcelona's attack, providing Flick with more options while allowing the club to rotate its wide players when necessary. His versatility enables him to play on either wing or as a central striker.
One of the first issues Adeyemi will face after arriving is selecting a new squad number, as the No. 27 shirt he wore at Borussia Dortmund cannot be used by Barcelona's first-team players under La Liga regulations.
The signing of Adeyemi forms part of Barcelona's strategy to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season as the club aims to build a squad capable of competing for major honours in Spain and across Europe.
