NBC Premier League champions Yanga SC have dominated the Tanzanian transfer market ahead of the 2026/27 season, making major moves to strengthen their squad.
Yanga are reported to have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki, while continuing their pursuit of forwards Jean Claude Girumugisha and Peter Shalulile.

After weeks of negotiations, Yanga have successfully brought back their former star, Burkina Faso international Stephane Aziz Ki.
Reliable reports indicate that the club paid US$750,000 (approximately TSh 1.9 billion) to Libyan side Al Ittihad Tripoli to secure the release of the 30-year-old midfielder from his contract.
Aziz Ki, who had already agreed personal terms with Yanga, is reported to have been unhappy since moving to Libya in January 2026, a situation that made his return to Tanzania easier to complete after building a strong reputation with the club.
Girumugisha Battle: Al Ahli Tripoli Enter the Race with Millions
While the Aziz Ki deal is reportedly complete, Yanga face a difficult challenge in their pursuit of Al Hilal Omdurman attacking midfielder and Burundi international Jean Claude Girumugisha.
The 21-year-old has become one of the most sought-after players in the market after winning the Rwanda Premier League Player of the Season award following an outstanding campaign with Al Hilal.
Although the player's representatives are believed to be attracted by Yanga's project, Libyan giants Al Ahli Tripoli have entered the race with a reported offer exceeding US$3 million (around TSh 7.9 billion).
