Defending CECAFA Kagame Cup champions Singida Black Stars suffered a disappointing start to their title defence after falling 2-0 to Jamus SC of South Sudan in their opening Group Stage match.
Jamus SC took the lead in the 11th minute through Laurent before Mario Taban sealed the victory with a stoppage-time goal in the 90+5th minute, securing all three points for the South Sudanese side.
Despite the setback, Singida Black Stars remain in contention for a place in the knockout stages. The Tanzanian side will now look to bounce back in their remaining group matches as they continue their campaign in the tournament, which is being held in Kigali, Rwanda.
