Simba attacking midfielder Keletso Makgalwa showed glimpses of his quality in his first appearance for the club during the CECAFA Kagame Cup match against Mogadishu City, which ended in a goalless draw.
Having been officially unveiled just hours before the match, Simba head coach Steve Barker introduced Makgalwa for the final 15 minutes, alongside other new signings including Ibrahim Doumbia and Jabeer.
The introduction of Makgalwa and several first-team players who had started on the bench completely changed the flow of the game. Many observers believed that had Barker started them from the beginning, Mogadishu City could have suffered a heavy defeat.
Speaking after the match, Makgalwa said he joined Simba with one clear mission: to help the team win matches, lift trophies, and achieve the club's objectives.
"I came to Simba to work, fight for the team, and win trophies. I will give everything I have to ensure the fans enjoy what I bring on the pitch. Just wait and see," Makgalwa said.
The talented midfielder joined Simba from South African club Sekhukhune United on the recommendation of head coach Steve Barker.
Makgalwa was a key player for Sekhukhune United, where he played an important role in the team's attacking output and goal contributions.
After watching him in action for a brief spell, Simba fans have already developed high expectations, believing he will add creativity in attack and create more goal-scoring opportunities for the team.
