Tanzanian forward Selemani Mwalimu is in Dar es Salaam completing visa formalities ahead of his return to Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca. According to reports, the striker is expected to leave Tanzania between August 4 and 5, 2026, after Simba SC and Wydad failed to reach an agreement to extend his loan spell.
Mwalimu spent last season on loan at Simba SC, but negotiations between the two clubs broke down before a new deal could be reached. Reports indicate that Simba did not complete a US$50,000 payment that formed part of the agreement, while Wydad Casablanca was also said to have delayed issuing the official invoice required to process the transaction.
The initial agreement between the two clubs expired on July 30, 2026, without a final resolution, prompting Mwalimu to begin arrangements for his return to Morocco. He is now expected to rejoin Wydad Casablanca, where his future for the 2026/27 season will be decided.
Should he not return to Simba next season, the club would lose a valuable attacking option after his contributions during his loan spell. For now, Mwalimu's immediate future rests with Wydad Casablanca as the Moroccan club evaluates its plans for the Tanzanian international.
