Simba SC are in the final stages of completing the signing of South African attacking midfielder Neo Maema on a season-long loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.
According to reports, Mamelodi Sundowns recently handed Maema a new two-year contract before deciding to send him out on loan again to give him more regular playing time.
It is understood that Simba head coach Steve Barker recommended the midfielder's return after being impressed by his performances during his previous spell at the club. Maema was among Simba's standout players last season, making a significant contribution with his attacking quality.
Based on the technical team's request, Simba reopened negotiations with Mamelodi Sundowns over the player's future. Reports indicate that the two clubs have already reached an agreement, with only the final formalities remaining before the transfer is completed.
If the deal is finalized as expected, Maema will officially rejoin Simba on a one-season loan, providing a major boost to the squad as it prepares for the new campaign and both domestic and continental competitions.
