Ugandan football has been plunged into mourning following the death of SC Villa captain David Owori after a reported robbery attack.
According to reports, Owori was attacked by suspected robbers while on his way home during the night.
He was rushed to hospital for treatment following the incident but later died today from the injuries he sustained.
In addition to captaining SC Villa, Owori was named in Uganda's preliminary squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Morocco.
His death has left his family, friends, teammates, SC Villa officials, and the wider football community in Uganda and across East Africa in deep mourning.
