JKT Tanzania have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Offen Chikola from Yanga SC after the two sides reached an agreement to terminate his contract with the Mainland Premier League champions.
Chikola has signed a two-year contract with JKT Tanzania, which will officially begin in the 2026/27 season.
The player joined Yanga last season from Tabora United, now known as TRA United. At the time, Chikola signed a three-year contract with the Jangwani-based club.
However, his time at Yanga was challenging due to intense competition for places in the starting lineup. As a result, he struggled to get sufficient playing time and establish himself within the team.
After the January 2026 transfer window opened, Chikola left Yanga on loan and joined Singida Black Stars in search of more playing time and an opportunity to develop his talent.
Despite moving to Singida Black Stars, Chikola also failed to feature regularly as he had hoped, meaning his career continued to be affected by a lack of consistent playing time.
JKT Tanzania have now given the midfielder a fresh opportunity to prove his ability after securing his services on a two-year contract.
The signing is expected to form part of JKT Tanzania's plans to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Mainland Premier League season, giving Chikola the chance to make a fresh start and pursue more regular playing time.
For Chikola, joining JKT Tanzania offers an opportunity to rebuild his form after a difficult period in which he struggled to secure a regular place at both Yanga and Singida Black Stars.
The 2026/27 season will now be an important one for him as he looks to prove his ability and demonstrate why JKT Tanzania's management decided to hand him a two-year contract.
