NBC Premier League club Mashujaa FC have officially announced the signing of veteran midfielder Jonas Gerard Mkude, popularly known as “Nungunungu,” on a one-year contract.
Mkude joins the Kigoma-based side, nicknamed “Wazee wa Mapigo na Mwendo,” as a free agent after his contract with defending champions Yanga SC expired.
The move brings an end to the long-running speculation surrounding the experienced midfielder’s future.
Mashujaa FC management said Mkude’s signing is aimed at adding experience to the team’s defensive midfield department.
Before joining Yanga SC, Mkude spent more than a decade with Simba SC, where he earned widespread recognition and won numerous trophies while also serving as the club’s captain.
His arrival comes alongside major changes to Mashujaa FC’s technical bench, with the club recently appointing new head coach Amani Josiah, who previously managed Dodoma Jiji FC.
