DR Congo international striker Fiston Mayele has officially begun a new chapter in his football career after being unveiled as a new player for Libyan giants Al Ahli Tripoli.
The club confirmed Mayele’s signing after the striker left Egyptian side Pyramids FC, where he enjoyed several successful seasons. Reports surrounding the transfer indicate that Mayele has signed a two-year contract with the Libyan giants.
The move opens a new chapter for Mayele in North African football after establishing himself as one of the most influential forwards in the Pyramids squad.
During his time at Pyramids, Mayele built a reputation for his goalscoring ability and strong performances in domestic and international competitions. Records show that he made 125 appearances for the club and scored 54 goals.
Al Ahli Welcome Mayele
Al Ahli Tripoli have strengthened their attacking department as part of their plans to build a competitive squad for the new season.
Mayele, who is also a member of the DR Congo national team, arrives in Libya with extensive experience of African football, having played for several clubs, including AS Vita in DR Congo, Yanga in Tanzania and Pyramids in Egypt.
His move to Al Ahli Tripoli was first reported in early July, with reports indicating that the two-year agreement had been completed before the club made the transfer official.
Mayele’s Yanga Legacy
For football fans in Tanzania, Mayele is best remembered for his time at Yanga, where he became hugely popular thanks to his goalscoring ability and trademark celebrations that made him a fan favourite.
After leaving Tanzania, the striker continued to develop his career abroad and eventually established himself as an important member of the Pyramids squad.
Now at Al Ahli Tripoli, Mayele faces a new challenge of proving himself in Libyan football and helping the club achieve its ambitions.
